A federal minority government holding for a full four-year term is a strong possibility. In this environment, government relations and public affairs officials must reassess their strategies and messaging when engaging decision makers.

On February 25, join a power panel of former chiefs of staff and strategists for an engaging discussion on how politics might shape the next four years.

Included will be a refresher on: confidence motions, the role of the Senate, the power of legislative committees, and the increased importance and influence of opposition critics. A range of issues will be debated as well: Western developments, provincial majority influence on a federal minority government, and other industry-specific issues including national pharmacare viability.

The Panel

Tim Murphy, Former Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Paul Martin and current Co-Chair, Project Finance, Infrastructure & Energy at McMillan

Guy Giorno, Former Chief of Staff to Premier Mike Harris, former Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Stephen Harper and current Partner & Leader, Political Law at Fasken
