Access to information is a critical part of public affairs, and so is knowing where to find it. Seeking information about government decisions can prove challenging, especially on politically sensitive subject matters.

Public bodies hold a wealth of information that can be sought and often disclosed under freedom of information and privacy legislation. Commonly known as FOIP, FOI, ATIP – these laws are slightly different in each jurisdiction and provide useful guidance on what information can be shared in the public interest while also protecting the privacy rights of individuals.

PAAC Alberta will be joined by freedom of information and privacy experts, who will discuss best practices for FOIP-ing and advice on when and where this tool can be most strategically deployed and applied to your public affairs efforts.
